Connecting PLAST_CELL with the MPS community in Washington, DC

PLAST_CELL partner Cherry Biotech participated in the 2026 MPS World Summit, held from 26 to 29 May 2026 in Washington, DC. The event brought together a global community of researchers, industry representatives, technology developers, and stakeholders working on microphysiological systems, organ-on-chip technologies, and advanced in vitro models.

Cherry Biotech was represented by its CEO, Jérémy Cramer, who used the opportunity to present the company’s work and raise awareness of the PLAST_CELL project among relevant stakeholders. The event also served as a valuable occasion to introduce the newly developed PLAST_CELL brochure, which supported discussions with participants and helped communicate the project’s objectives, technological approach, and expected contribution to the study of cancer cell plasticity.

Through this participation, the team contributed to strengthening the visibility of PLAST_CELL within the microphysiological systems community and supported the project’s dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities.

Second Annual Meeting together with our Ethics Advisors

On 17-18th October 2023, we held the Second Annual Meeting of PLAST_CELL at the PRBB in Barcelona. It was a hands-on meeting, where participants went to visit the labs of Verena Ruprecht and Toni Celià-Terrassa and even with a demonstration of the microfluidics device from Cherry Biotech!

We also welcomed our newly established Ethics Advisory Board (EAB), who will provide their advise during the active phase of the project on topics such as animal experiments, use of patient samples and the use of AI in decision-making. The EAB-members are:

– Dr. Maria Berdasco (Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) – Can Ruti)

– Dr. Magali Jacquier (Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS)

– Dr. Melanie Goisauf (BBMRI-ERIC)

Verena concluded the meeting by confirming that we have successfully built a strong collaborative team in PLAST_CELL!
